Navy SEAL book excerpts claim bin Laden was unarmed | The Lookout – Yahoo! News.
Excerpts from ex-Navy SEAL Mark Owen‘s upcoming book “No Easy Day” have started flooding media sites. One describes the actual killing of Osama bin Laden:
We were less than five steps from getting to the top when I heard shots. … In his death throes, he was still twitching and convulsing. Another assaulter and I trained our lasers on his chest and fired several rounds. The bullets tore into him, slamming his body into the floor until he was motionless. … Lying in front of me was the reason we had been fighting for the last decade. It was surreal trying to clean the blood off the most wanted man in the world so that I could shoot his photo.
Another excerpt revealed that the al Qaeda leader was unarmed when he was gunned down:
Bin Laden had in his room on a shelf above the door an AK-47 and a Makarov pistol. But they were both empty.
“He had no intention of fighting,” Owen writes.
I suppose it means very little that Osama was unarmed since he was ultimately responsible for the murders of thousands of people, not the least of whom were the victims of 9/11. It leaves a slightly bad taste in my mouth, but he had it coming.
And we all get what’s coming to us. Believe me…

For one, I really do not think we as the American people need to know ever detail of what goes on in our wars, especially since they are not going on her. Now the reason for the war, we should be informed of. Honestly I don’t care if Osama was armed or not. The plan that was executed by his leadership took years of planning and in our country that is pre-meditated and is punishable by death. He got what he deserved. My opinion.

He got what he deserved – in fact he got a lot better than he deserved. As far as I am concerned, if he was unarmed that just means the SEALS missed an opportunity to set him on fire and kick him down the stairs before double tapping him. But I won’t be too critical. The SEALS did good.
