Retiring Boss Gives Employees $1,000 For Each Year They’ve Worked for Him | NewsFeed | TIME.com.
When 83-year-old retiring boss Howard Cooper sold his auto dealership in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he arranged for his entire staff to continue working there.
Then he gave them all $1000 for each year they worked for him. As you might imagine, Cooper received a standing ovation as he handed out the checks.
Some employees received pretty substantial payments. A controller named Sandy worked for Cooper for 46 years. And a mechanic named Bob got $26,000 and could hardly believe it. “You just don’t expect something like that,” he said later.
No you don’t, Bob. And that’s what makes Howard Cooper so freaking awesome.
When asked why he did this, Cooper simply said he wanted to pay back the people who helped make him so successful. If that’s not an unselfish and wonderful thing to do, I don’t know what is.
I tip my hat to you, Howard Cooper. You truly are the best boss ever!

Now there’s a man who knows what the word honour means.Unfortunately he’s in the minority.Most people in his position just use employees like livestock and leave them with as little as they can get away with.Way to go Howard.You deserve a medal.
