A recent study in the Journal of Basic and Applied Social Psychology has finally determined why some men are so immature: they were likely dependent on pacifiers as children.
Sound strange? I agree, but check this out.
Since babies can’t speak, they often rely on non-verbal cues like facial expressions to communicate. Mimicking the emotions—and faces—of those around them is an important part of this process. Unfortunately, babies who use pacifiers a lot—especially boys—have a harder time doing this.
Stay with me now.
The aforementioned study included interviews with college students and found that men who used pacifiers more heavily as children were less successful in judging the moods of others and showing empathy. In other words, they struggled with both reading and expressing emotions. This deficiency in emotional growth can eventually lead to… you guessed it… issues with emotional maturity.
And there you have it: a legitimate explanation for male immaturity. I blame it all on pacifiers, so please keep this in mind the next time your man acts like a jackass.

Jokes aside, how do they account for the immaturity of the guys who didn’t suckle plastic til the age of four?
