Shopping on Facebook?

As if Facebook weren’t enough of a powerhouse, everywhere except on the New York Stock Exchange that is, it now appears that users of the popular social networking site may be able to purchase products  there, too.

USA Today reported that Facebook will begin testing a new “Collections” system with seven major retailers. Products advertised on the site will include a “buy” button that allows users to make purchases immediately. Additional buttons might include “collect” or “want,” both of which are being considered.

I know what you’re thinking: as if we need another button after “like” has gotten so annoying.

Well, brace yourselves, people. It looks like the Facebook button universe is going to get even bigger.

And if I can eventually buy groceries through Facebook, I may never leave the house again!
