The Irony of Sleep

This is how you “crash” on a mattress (Huffington Post)

The title may be slightly misleading because I don’t plan to write about sleep as a subject, but rather an incident that occurred as the result of sleep—and a very ironic incident at that.

Late Monday night in Dallas, Texas, a woman coming off a 13-hour shift was driving home when she suddenly fell asleep at the wheel. Moments later, her new pickup truck veered off the road and crashed into a store, where she was rescued by firefighters a short time later. Luckily, she was unharmed.

The irony of this unfortunate accident comes when you consider the product sold by the store this tired woman’s truck impacted: mattresses!

I can’t help but think how spending a little more time on her own mattress before going to work could have prevented this from happening at all!
