Be Your Own Chocolatier!
At the International CES consumer electronics show earlier this month, the company 3D Systems showcased the ChefJet, a 3D printer capable of making edible creations.
The chocolate maker Hershey’s soon “sweetened the deal” by announcing that it had agreed to a multi-year partnership with 3D Systems, which means consumers could be creating their own chocolate confections in the comfort of their own homes someday.
“Whether it’s creating a whole new form of candy or developing a new way to produce it, we embrace new technologies such as 3D printing,” Hershey’s vice president and chief research and development officer said recently. “We believe that innovation is the key to delivering relevant, compelling consumer experiences with our iconic brands.”
In other words, once this technology becomes available and less expensive, you can sit home and make 3D chocolate versions of your junk!
What will they think of next?
